Monday 11th September – walk **** – Nacton Shoes - sunny and hot.
It was supposed to be cooler today but it still seemed pretty hot today,
maybe a tad more cloud today, no plans today so I did my exercises in the
garden while Mag planted sweatpeas. Then as we needed to go shopping as the
boys are coming round next weekend for Mags Birthday we needed to stock up
at Lidl so decided to pack a picnic and drive over to Nacton Shores
arriving at 12.30 and walking down through the trees coming out by the
River Orwell with the tide dropping and not many people about either:) We
turned right and ambled through the shady trees, just lovely with glimpses
of yahts out on the river with a fairly good breeze too, probably enough
for a foil but never mind as we had a lovely walk. We came out on the
foreshore over the little stream, past the pretty thatched cottage then sat
on the little old concrete dock for lunch as a steady stream of Oyster
catchers headed up-river. Well rested we then ambled back picking loads of
blackberries once again before taking the scenic route.
Then after tea I went down to Felixstowe Ferry to catch an amazing sunset,
fantastic way to end the day!
